Comment:
Some sweet mostly-indie-pop with a few other treats thrown in. Warning: this mix exceeds your RDA of sugar. Only to be taken as part of a balanced diet. Title by France Gall, and a big thank you to mademoiselle Laura for the Architecture in Helsinki pick.
Feedback:
Looks very cool. I love 10, 11 and 14.
Whoopie! your His Name Is Alive and Sondre Lerche picks are very nice, and I just added Bow Wow Wow to my next mix blueprint after watching Marie Antoinette today, where "Fools Rush In" was well-featured. weren't you toying with download options a while back? love to hear this, it looks fantastic.
Yum. Momus, Ludus, Field Mice. I could go on.. What I will say though is tornadoZ, you are right, we want more links Siobhan!!
Essential! Yet--unavailable. Gnash, gnash etc.
Erin McKeown is always sweet. Like a bonbon.
Well now, Let me say put this on top of the pile for next time we do business lady. From what I know 7-11 and 19 to the wonderful wonderful closer gives me big fat halloween goose pimples. I was listening to a hilarious live cover of that France Gall pick today by Belle & Seb followed by their equally sincere yet equally funny version of Mutantes - A Minha Menina. Great stuff Siobhan.
Wow! One of the coolest mixes I've seen from you -- but perhaps because I'm familiar with many of the songs (pastels, SLGTM, Heavy Blinkers, HNIA , France Gall, etc). Lovely cover too. It reminds me of some of the El/Cherry Red covers.
Looks sweet, would like to give it a listen.
Oh what a perfect mTlange. Quite a lot I'm not familiar with so that's me intrigued now!
Fools Rush In is one of my all time favorite songs and the Magic Numbers track is very fine also. Nothing ordinary about this mix.
This looks tremendous! Also, there's a new Bettie Serveert album and I didn't know it - how the hell could that happen? So thanks for the heads-up.
Your best yet (and that is quite the achievement). This is, quite simply put, fantastic. I, too, would like to open my bag, put on a big ole grin and say "trick or treat" in hopes of nabbing this sweet treat.
This looks like it's full of lovely, indie-pop goodness. You're definitely at the top of the heap when it comes to putting together these kinds of mixes. Bee-yoo-tee-full cover, too. A must-hear, for sure.
Love the songs, love the cover...love the mix!!
anything with france gall & annabelle from bow wow wow gets my approval...great cover 2!
Oooh, I love Bow Wow Wow's cover too, as well as the Sondre Lerche song and the rat-related double-header. Excellent all around, comme toujours.
Full of confections! Causes earaches..?
Tasty Treats indeed. Love the Erin McKeown and Modest Mouse esp.
great stuff all around
Wow, really good. 3, 7, 11, 14, 22, 23 are all excellent! Looks like a great blend overall.
Oh Siobhan, c'est magnifique. And I thank Laura too, because that is a fantastic AiH cut.
What a bag of delights this is. Big love for the Pastels.
8-11 and those last two tracks... magnificient. This looks like it'd be right up my alley. Guess I'm a sugar junkie.
I do like the look of this. Dude, sweet.
THis looks so nice! Great cover too!
Beautiful cover and mix Siobhan.
The whole indie pop genre can get way too saccharine for my tastes, but I can never get away from it. It's too addictive! Loving all that I hard of her especailly 3, 11 and 22. Will have to check out some of these other artists. . . .
and finally.... thank you, Siobhan! listened to this in a sleep-deprived haze on a long flight from Atlanta to Seattle yesterday and then again at work today since I knew it was sure to be a hit with my colleagues. especially love tracks 3,10,17 (in addition to those I mentioned below) and you're forcing me to re-evaluate my hasty judgement of Modest Mouse so long ago. that "Gravity Rides Everything" track is great. thanks again for sharing this.
Nice lineup and I love the closer.
