Comment:

A mixed-genre one - with a loose theme of Just Solid Tunes - for Matt, who now officially lives 371.6 miles away. Still, I get to see him next weekend, which is when he'll receive this. Many thanks to Salman for the wonderful Songs: Ohia track, and the title is, of course, from the equally wonderful Galaxie 500 track. Never take living in the same place as the one you love for granted :)

Long distance romances are tough, but the coming together...the long anticipated coming together is splendid. As is this mix. Love the opening run through Galaxie 500 especially.

Lots to like here. You hit a Procal Harum fave (even though I feel like I should laugh at it - I've always loved that one), a killer Waterboys song, and it's always nice to see Link Wray on a mix.

371.6 miles? That is a lot of kilometers. Not like track 2, where he just falls into the arms of Venus de Milo. Great mix, Siobhan.

Your more than welcome on that opening track. A "mix ofd solid tunes" indeed! Loe the opening two, and although I don't really care for Sleater-Kinney all too much anymore, that song will always have a soft spot in my heart. Great stuff.

Solid indeed. I'm not sure what will make Matt happier -- this mix or seeing you. Hopefully the latter, though I'm sure he's going to love this fabulous collection of ace tunes.

Blistering barnacles, so many great tracks. 2-6-7 solid gold classics. As for Longpigs- my flatmate at college used to play that song real loud and I gotta say I hated it, but solo Hawley more than makes up for it...

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah--that Galaxie 500 track is one of my 50 favorite songs of all-time and that's one of my favorite lyrics of all-time. The fact that this mix lives up to the high standards/expectations set up for me by your title is a supreme compliment to you. Enjoy your weekend together!

A lot to love here, the Bill Withers, Link Wray and Small Faces, just to name three. My wife and I had a 2-year long-distance relationship and 6-month long-distance engagement before I moved to Mexico to get married. Good luck!
