Comment:
A little mixed-genre effort for Rob Conroy, who's been known to do the occasional mixed-genre one himself. Title from the Aztec Camera track (possibly one of my favourite lyrics of all time - I don't know what it means, but I do love the way it comes out of Roddy Frame's mouth). Many thanks to Salman for the Madder Rose and French Connection for the Radio Dept!
Feedback:
Ah yes good old Roddy. Ive always loved that line too! The song itself fits well with the Madder Rose and Radio Dept picks. Lots of other faves here, most notably 17. You're no slouch at this mixed genre lark Siobhan.
Love track three. Very nice.
great cover and a most eclectic mix...madder rose is on sale in my library for a quid!!
Congrats on finishing the dissertation Siobhan. (brings back stress-filled memories)Quite a bit I'm unfamiliar with here but me & my daughter adore track 17.
This is SOLID. Gosh, I miss Massive Attack. To the rack, I go!!!
Wow. What a mix. Track 11 makes me dance around like a nutter every time I hear it, I agree with you re: Roddy. And I remember buying Panic On when I was 17, which makes puts me at about 19 now..hooray!
Great mix for the milestone. School's out!Only know a few but it looks great.
Dang this is good!
WOW. Thank you! You made my (otherwise a bit bleak) day, Siobhan. I can't wait to hear it and promise to give you a proper e-mail response soon. :-)
i love the radio dept, and i'm also pleased by the inclusion of my favorite-titled track by cansei de ser sexy (because death from above 1979 should be more people's favorite band).
this is pure wonderful
Nice one Siobhan! A true fav' track there by the High Dials.
Oops! Well, who needs time-delay moisturisers when mixes do much the same job? Seriously, thanks for the heads-up, Sam - it's been changed to 1994 accordingly :)
Looks really good (and I only know a few things here)...love the cover as well.
Looks like a Henry Darger cover but sounds like something else entirely ??
A solid mix from start to finish. I should check out these High Dials... getting lots of praise to not pass up.
love Aztec Camera, and that Cass McCombs has a real nice sound. don't know many of the other tracks here... would love to hear this.
Nice one. Love the Moondog.
