Comment:

This is a birthday gift for my ex. We're on good terms now. You know, the place where you think, "This is a really cool person, and boy, am I glad I'm not sharing my life with him!" I even gave him a copy of the break-up mix I posted a while back. He took it with such good humor that I thought I should make him a mix of the type of music he digs the most. Except that he really loves Tull, and there's no way I'm putting Tull on a mix at this point, just as a point of pride vis a vis Sean Lally.

Thanks to Dead Man for the Einstein Dub, Leif Averageson for the killer Yo-Yo Ma/Silk Road cut, and Thomas Mohr for Johnny in German.

Title from Mr. Coulton.

This looks wonderfully weird. Android Sisters, Petra Hayden, Negativeland, and Keith LeBlan all stand out as inspired choices. I haven't even thought about the Android Sisters in close to 20 years - what a memory jog.

But do you still get to keep all the music (if I recall correctly) he left behind?! You've got an awesome selection here. I think it's Jacob Fred Jazz Odessy tho. Great to see them in a mix.

Thanks Leif. I misspelled Fred; you misspelled Odyssey. It all comes out even in the end. Anyway, I corrected it. Oh, and he has all his CDs back now, though I did rip many of them before returning them.

Wow, I could only wish an ex could make something half as cool as this. Hell, I wish my own girlfriend could make me something half as good as this! Great mix.
