Comment:

This playlist is designed to allow the listener to drift off to sleep while listening it. I don't know about other people, but if I lay down and start listening it's rare I'll get even halfway to sleep before I'm just gone. The songs fall into three general categories, electronic, bass and "new-acoustic". Some of the songs (Bliss, I can only disappoint U) have synthy-electronic sounds throughout - two of the songs are demos meaning they're pretty lo-fi and make unintrusive listening - Coldplay, Easyworld and Travis provide some melancholy guitar music (though to work best, the playlist should remain emotionally neutral). Perhaps the most unusual inclusion on this playlist is the track "Mallrats" by Wax. It's as much the connotations of the song than the sound itself that make me ready to sleep, for it evokes memories of many a wasted late night spent watching Kevin Smith's "Mallrats" and finally succumbing to sleep in the small hours as the ending credits rolled. The playlist finishes with 5 instrumental\sequenced tracks by Placebo, designed to pretty much finish you off. No lyrics, just repetitive electronic music to draw out those delta waves.
