.....when it comes to pyschedelia.., "the kids are alright"! The state of the state, genre-wise, is stronger than a squirt of the Bufo's juice....bring on the dancing machine elves! (I miss Terence.) wow! Exactly what Scott says. Never heard any of these tracks, but my synapses are crackling in anticipation of this latest offering from he who is known as "The Vast Active Living Intelligence System". Your output just keeps getting better, my friend.

Like most everyone else, I'm totally unfamiliar with most all of this one. Based on the stellar mix-making rep of Sir Valis alone, I know this one has gotsto be the goods.

I'll assume the Lotus position that this one mesmerizing mix, although I only know a few of these artists. So what do you think of the Virgineers record? Love the cover too. I've got my Ion you.

Well, it's not an all-Wilco mix, but it certainly is MY mix of the week. This is just too intriquing. And a beautiful cover, too. Let me know when you're up for more tradin', Mr. V.

Like the majority here, I've never heard a lot of this, but the Spongetones get it off to a nice start. The cover kind of frightens me though, personally. So many eyes.

hooray for psychadaelia! i thought of you the other day, valis, when i bought a west aussie pop-psychadelia (and other genres as well) compilation, called "clarion call" (clarion records was a west aussie label in the 60s). if you want any info on it, let me know.

looks amazing, could you please throw one of these in with our trade, if you haven't sent them yet. I'll put another one in your package.

Oops, you totally got me here. Apart from Simian, I never heard of ANY of these bands. Which, needless to say, makes me all the more curious. And, equally needless to say, I fully trust your exquisite taste & judgment. So throw one onto the proverbial pile, mixmaster, if ya pleeze. And watch out for the undertoad!

Like a lot of us here this mix is all new stuff for me except for the Spongetones. But being the obsessive librarian that I am I looked up all these bands. Every band here has a listing in the online All Music Guide so you can check out there bios and album listings. The only band not there was Mr. Quimby's Beard but a search in Google brings up lots of info about this British band.
Great mix. This is what I love about AOTM. Finding out about new stuff.

What a pleasant surprise this was in my mailbox today! You know what, Mr. V - it is truly amazing. Every song is stunning, but that opening combination of songs is unreal. I had never heard that Spongetones track, so that was a great start. And it even gets better from there. I am so totally blown away by this that it saddens me to not see it given "mix of the week". Still, YOU know it's great. And everyone on this page knows it's great. It's obvious that you really labored over it - a true labor of love. So happy solstice to you, my friend.

The reviews were right -- this is fabulous!! It gets better with each listen. Anyone who likes Elephant 6, recent Supergrass or just psych in general should do whatever it takes to get his/her paws on this. I know Valis takes Visa and loves gold chains.

I revisited this gem today. Definitely an AOTM classic. Has it really been a year and a half since you posted this? Where does the time go?
