Comment:

My university is in a town that's really small, so you only really get the opportunity to break out your moves - if you so wish - on Friday nights in the students' union, at a phenomenon named "The Bop". Essentially a noxious mixture of stomping choruses, sticky floors, cheap smoke machine effects and cheaper alcohol, it amuses us easily enough, God bless us. Among the risks are cheesy music of gargantuan proportions and the possibility that you may never be able to remove the industrial-strength fluorescent wristband which is slapped on your wrist before you go in. But I thought that this magical event deserved some kind of accolade, so this is a series of mixes dedicated to the anticipation and progression of "a night at the Bop", including - hopefully - something to please everyone. And I hope the university doesn't sue me for using their event logo (see part 2).
