Comment:
Made to add to the dance at krautfreak's celebration-party-bachanal tonight..., he said his tribe "could definitely dance for 80 minutes", I threw in a slight break at the 23-minute mark...but it kicks back in and rolls on to the end of the pvc...that mash-up at track three is a thing of beauty. Persephone descends. Happy Solstice eve to all....the return of the Sun soon.Feedback:
Great mix! I love Toots & the Maytals, Eddie Cochran, Booker T... and Neil from the Young Ones?! I gotta hear that one someday!
I may recognize the cover work, and I dig your mix and esp Lee Michaels (but the rest is cool too)
Ah, yes...the return of the sun king...I would LOVE to hear this someday, V. From what I recognize, this looks fab...I need more dance in my life.
Xcellent shtuff all round. And yeah, I do love your music! Can't wait to hear this. (That Rod Stewart tune is well worth a alight break for the fiddles alone . . .)
yup, great stuff
Hey, I actually know some of this stuff! Looks like loads of fun, v-man!
whoa, dude...this has guitars?...drums?...fiddles ??...damn!

Two mixes in a month? My goodness, you are blazing a trail, Valis! Love all of this. Nice to see the snobs, dandys, toots and the lesser known Stones track.
Great all around. Can't go wrong with Eddie. I haven't heard any Lee Michaels in a loooong time...lets see, when did I get my last tattoo.
you did know that Stereo MC's sampled that Jimmy bo horne track
Yep..., I like both tracks. Thought this one by Jimmy Bo worked better going into the Toots cover..
HT hT looks really good...
Excellent!!! Especially the Inspiral Carpets and the Persian Rugs (which wasn't meant to be a floor covering coupling until after I typed it - hmmm... a possible new theme disc?). That would be quite a party if this was the soundtrack.
"Sorry I'm. Hope you don't mind I brought a guest. And here, here's a bottle of Pernod. Yeah, tastes great mixed with Kool...hey, what is that music?! Who? Valis? As in Philip K. Dick?...Ya gotta excuse man, I'm gonna take off my shoes and dance. Here, hold this..."
Uhm..."Sorry I'm late."...
This looks great!
Like Gerry says, you're on fire! You're a mix makin' machine! Anyway, I'm familiar with more of the songs on this than your last ambient mix. Wish I could have attended the shindig where this groovy little collection was played. How did it go over?
Looks cool, for sure.
...and dance they did, my friend. you'll be pleased to know this was playing when the cops showed up and asked to turn it down. hellzyeah -- "valis calling" strikes a blow against the man!! really had the crowd bodymovin', v -- thanks again. (rod made for a nice singalong session.)
Looks like great fun.
If you like mashups check out my mix titled "Mix and Mash." Continuous mix of mashups from 12" vinyl. Thanks for reminding me about Inspiral Carpets. I remember hearing about them on the orignal Real World.
Kept getting doppelgangered every time I previously tried to comment, still better late than never; This definately does the trick for me.

really great stuff. like this a lot, have spinned it a lot last week
Very cool. (Like the Can-con.)
good stuff too, valis; I recently read Sweet Soul Music and I gotta get me some more Booker T. As for the 'random kindness' stuff, let's just say I got busted by a security guy who thought I was stealing from the store... and people are not so nice in paris, but you made me think about starting again, so thanks.
Wow...looks like a good go here...and cover it slick and savvy
