Comment:

This is mood-setting music, of sorts - it's not all indie pop, strictly speaking, but it has that same light quality to it; at least, that was the idea. On Sunday I'm going to see Belle and Sebastian (which I'm looking forward to immensely!) and, while I thought about making a "best of" mix for the train ride, I instead decided to mark the occasion by making the kind of mix that would get me into a happy, indie-pop mood for the concert. A couple of tracks tend more towards folk and are a little more downbeat (the Elliott Smith and James Taylor) but for the most part, cheerful and/or melodious is what I was going for. And Belle and Sebastian at the end, just as a reminder of the inspiration for the mix!

Holy smokes, you are a juggernaut. But the type of juggernaut that every loves because they don't let their dominance go to their head. So yeah, really nice picks from Elliot, the Jayhawks, NMH, Rufus and of course B&S.

Great mix. I envy you your ability to see Belle and Sebastian live. As I live in the American Midwest, I doubt I'll ever get to see them play. I can always hope, I suppose. Perhaps the Trash Can Sinatras, another Scottish treasure, will find their way to Indiana as well.
