(Thanks to: SR-71 for the Serpents and Chesterfield Kings; Johan the Red for death In Vegas and the Ride; TR for Saddar Bazaar; Mark Mikel himself for "Higher Llamas"!; last, but in no wise least, Albert of Scotland for the great Martyn Bates track...a gentleman.)
One track is tamboura....Johan said: "Go with it!" So, I did. Oh, and it's damned good to be back....

awesome. An oft-used word, but one which I mean from the heart. This is a must-have for the esoteric amongst us psych fans. I only know about 25% of this mix, but already I am slabbering to hear the rest.

Hot diggity..! I'd heard Agent Smith had finally "got 'cha", V (apparently the rumors were jus' that...and you can pilot mechanical).
Looks very Sitary; an' if it's ay'thing like "Son of..."...then it's a keeper.

And it's damn freakin' good to have ya back, buddy! Since I've been eagerly awaitin' the return of this prodigal bastard son of Sitarycon's sister, I can only shout a loud "Hooray!" and hold out hope that it's gonna be on its way to me in the veeeery near futah. ;) P.S.: Rest assured, folks, that Virgineers track is worth the price of admission alone . . . and the rest looks mighty tasty as well. Hmm.

There are Llamas higher than the High Llamas? Who woulda thunk it?
It is great to have you back valis! Just got "The Mindbending Sounds of the Chesterfield Kings" from Ra-Cha-Cha's best kept secret (kept from most of Ra-Cha-Cha, too, apparently - including meownself until you had me track 'em down) The Chesterfield Kings - so I know that particular track...

Woo-hoo!! Yes indeed, it's good to have ya back, my friend. I only know a few numbers on here (Warlocks, Scenic, I think I've heard that Ride track before...), but this looks full of psyche-y goodness. I've still been enjoying my mixes I received from you last month, especially The Longest Drink. AMT in 2 weeks!!

What a way to return! I don't know a thing here, but a Welsh sitar song? That's got to be heard. This is an excellent series.

Nice to see you here and mixing Valis, and doing so in splendid form too - this looks absolutely wonderful and ditto 12vman - HIGHER Llamas? Now that I have to hear! I don't know all of this, but what I do I like, and what I don't intrigues me greatly.

Welcome back,
Your dreams were your ticket out.

Welcome back,
To that same old place that you laughed about.

Well the names have all changed since you hung around,
But those dreams have remained and they're turned around.

Who'd have thought they'd lead ya (Who'd have thought they'd lead ya)
Here where we need ya (Here where we need ya)

Yeah we tease him a lot cause we've hot him on the spot, welcome back,
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back!

This ain't Bollywood - that should be made clear right from the start. Whatever your notions, emotions and connotions regarding the sitar, you can just leave them at the door before playing this mix, because if you don't, this mix will kick them right out the door.
Yes - there are trippy trax on here; yes - there are psychedelic trax on here; yes - there are trax that, at times, border on traditional Indian music - at least to these westernly tuned ears. But there's blooze, there's rawk, there's garage & a small sprinkling of electronic noodling. On many trax, I found myself listening intently for the sitar, only to discover other nuances and connections. This ain't your Padma's sitar stuff - this is SITARCON 3!

Joe must have been inspired by last week's
Bloomsday moment (that Valis started):
("...and yes I said yes I will Yes.") ~ :-p
