"I heard a techno song one time that went like, doom doom doom doom..." - yeah, of a lot of kinds of techno, this description is certainly true. Although I really don't enjoy some aspects of techno, what's contained in this is more Detroit, experimental and a little ambient-based stuff, which is more listenable and has some clever mixing. Anyway, it's kind of the "sister mix" to a house one I made recently, and tries to show that the genre can be more interesting than it would often lead you to believe - I hope it works! Again, no remixes, just to keep it "pure".

Always cool to see a Juan Atkins classic on a mix. Excellent choices all round, 'specially dig the Orbital, Autechre, FSoL and, of course, the two Carls.

not familiar with all of it, but that Orbital tune always gets me going (as does Papua New Guinea).

Yeah, this out of my usual scope of listening, but words like "Detroit" and 'experimental", especially next to each other are often intriguing.
