Comment:
(Title from the Nina Nastasia track - actually, the entire track lyrics, since that particular track's 33 seconds long...!) This was actually made at approximately the same time as a previous acoustic-based mix - there were some tracks which didn't make the cut, but which merited their own mix...again, I found a lot of folk and bluegrass creeping in there. This was one of those mixes whose track order I thought I had sorted out okay, then the next day I listened to it, hated it, completely reshuffled it and changed the version of Rocky Top from Conway Twitty's to The Osborne Brothers (standard and best!) Moral of the story: sleep on your mixes. Maybe not literally though. :)
Feedback:
cool.
I gotta check out that Devendra Banhart album soon,
This looks very nice, as does the first volume, which I somehow managed to miss. And I agree that the Osborne Brothers' version can't be beat.
This looks fantastic! The Hem is a favorite of mine, and how can you not love that opener?
Looks excellent. Though reading the name Ralph McTell still gives me the creeps . . . May I call you Annette? ;)
Looks nice.
Cannot beat this mix - the sleeping did you some good - great job.
Nice one Siobhan. (I've been reading a lot about Mr. Banhart lately.) I know what Dom1 means, too.although "grainy rainy" and "Scottish" is redundant, isn't it..?
This looks pretty great to me.
I know what you mean too, Dom - actually you summed up very nicely the atmosphere I was going for! Yep, I'd say that "Grainy rainy" and "Scottish" is definitely redundant, by the way - and frankly, once you get into the Highlands, "grainy rainy folksy" and "Scottish" is even more redundant :)
I like those USA bluegrass selections mixed in here.
Beautiful. Lots of favorites including Flat and Scruggs, Devendra Banhart, Dot Allison, Renbourn and Tabor/Simpson. Welcome aboard Marie ;-!
I truly love this mix, Siobhan.
This looks really lovely, Siobhan. I especially like the Devendra Banhart->Nina Nastasia stretch there. Great stuff.
Very nice. A wonderful mix.
This looks very interesting. I don't know a lot of the tracks... but I wish I did! :)
