Comment:
A Scottish mix - I know there are quite a few of them around the site, but I hope you enjoy this nonetheless! I put this together recently, just for fun, and, seeing as it was Burns' night the other night, used it as musical entertainment for the Burns supper a couple of friends and I decided to have. We did address the haggis first, though! Haggis, neeps, tatties and Mogwai - cannae beat it. :)
Feedback:
"...and, seeing as it was Burns' night the other night..." - Damn Curtis has his own "night" in Scotland...I'm gonna' hafta' git him to sign all future trades, ;-].
This looks very nice!
This looks very nice!
Ach, missed Burns night again. You'd think I'd have learned how to mark it on my calendar by now. Mmmm, haggis 'n' orange juice. This looks rrreally grrreat Siobhan. Love the Teenage Fanlub and Roddy Frame/Edwyn Collins picks especially.
Yay for Scottish music! I love that Looper track, and of course the world would be considerably worse off without the Vaselines and Mogwai to caress its eardrums.
There can never be too many Scottish mixes on Art of the Mix. In fact, I wish someone would come up with "Art of the Scottish Mix."
Girn when ye knit, an lauch when ye loss.
Girn when ye knit, an lauch when ye loss.
I'd rather have the music without the haggis . . . ;)
One thing you can say 'bout Scotland , they're better to do Whiskey and popmusic then play football, but I miss Primal scream
Gimme haggis and some whiskey I cannae remember the name of... great mix. Nice to see Gentle Waves getting some love.
Ah, this'd be nice with a wee drammie. I don't know if I'm the only person on the site to have experienced vegetarian haggis, but it's definitely an experience to be missed.
This looks really super, Siobhan. Love the TFC, Vaselines, Mogwai, Camera Obscura and B&S tracks, especially. We'll have to put together another trade here sometime soon.
Och wee lassie it's a richt cannie mix yiv goat here. Wishing you peace & serenity at the monastery.
I cannae do the Scots accent so I'll just say excellent and love the Mogwai. Cool track listing too.
Lets have a wee sip of a single malt in honor of this mix and a safe and happy trip!
I love Life Without Buildings!
Some cracking picks here Siobhan.Love the CRR.
Very nice indeed.
Very nice. I'm almost sorry that this won't be in my pile...
Great choices and educational too! Now I can count to 20 like a Scot.
Hoots mon, or womon, och aye the noo, it's ab raw bricht moonlit nicht the nicht, and all that cliched stuff. All the best Scottish bands are here, except my favs, Primal Scream! Just joking Siobhan. Great stuff!
Very nicely executed. Only thing missing is My Bloody Valentine.
Actually, are MBV Scottish or Irish? It doesn't matter. Great mix.
Queen of Indie strikes again! Much of this I know that I like and that which I don't know I surely would...great lookin' stuff lass!
Wow! This looks great! To quote an old Saturday Night Live skit, "If it's not Scottish, it's crap!"
