Comment:
All acoustic, all the time! This is the third fully acoustic mix I've made, and is attempt #2 to make a mix inspired by an article I read in The Guardian about "pastoral pop" - the first one somehow turned into "Why pamper life's complexity?" halfway through making it. So this tries, again, to reach that happy medium between indie pop and folk - I don't know if it's quite there, but it hopefully has that New World Symphony vibe to it, (if such a thing exists :) ). Many thanks to Laura for the Tim Eriksen track and to Shawn for the Forest one. The title's a mish-mash of lyrics from the Shirley Collins number and the Pines' lovely, lovely Smiths cover.
Feedback:
Great looking collection and a cover to match. Who are The Pines - I better check them out.
Strummy. This looks real nice.
Nice soundtrack for a wintry Sunday afternoon with a hot mug of tea and a good book. Prima.
The Guardian implies a serious mix to me..wot I know - about 50% - I like..Odetta & Emmylou I love!
This looks absolutely lovely, Siobhan. You're welcome for the Forest track and what I know of the rest (Daniel Johnston, Fahey, Lamb, Bert Jansch) looks great, as well. Put me down for a copy of this one for our next go 'round of trades.
This sound like it would go well with a walk along Lake Michigan. Like the Mississippi John Hurt, John Martyn, Odetta and Emmylou Harris.
This looks like it would accompany a low-key Sunday. Well done!
really great looking mix!!!!!!!!!!!
Lovely.
The opening cinq are superb, love the John Fahey track too.
This looks great. I'd really like to hear this one.
looking really fine, esp cool to see Odetta on a mix
Only know around half of these.I'd like to hear this.A trade maybe?
Wow--it's mixes like this that justify the activity...
Brilliant mix... top to bottem. I'm playing that John Fahey into Gastr Del Sol in my head and it's great!
Nice. Fantastic, etc. I am *so* enjoying your mixes, Ms. H.
This is very, very nice. Methinks we're due for our first trade, yes?
This is really great. I love that Fahey/Gastr Del Sol/Lamb trio especially. Wonderful.
Very smooth looking mix here Siobhan; if you dig acoustic-only pluckings, pick up Pat Metheny's "One Quiet Night" with it's acoustic renderings of not-only-Metheny work...like a stunning version of Ferry Cross the Mersey.
Looks good and chilled. I'm going to have to check out your other mixes now and look forward to a 4th in this series.
Too beautiful for mere words. I bow. Whisper.
really great stuff. I love the john martyn and bert jansch picks muchly.
Something special this way comes. You deserve the Lombardi Trophy.
whew. sah-weet.
looks very very nice...a lot of great choices here.
I love these kinds of acoustic mixes. This one looks awesome.
Oh this is just beautiful Siobhan. Thanks for creating it.
I'd love to hear this one! Looks great.
I'm picking up the Dvorak vibe . . . a musical walk through the hills on a sunny winter day. I'm imagining the Fahey track as the centerpiece but would like to hear the whole thing to get the whole flow -
boy oh boy do i love sodastream. i would like to be comment #9732 saying that this looks very nice. :)
