Comment:
Two discs of folk and folk-type stuff, made for a curious friend. I must admit that I have used some stuff on mixes before, so in some ways, this is more of a "compilation" - but ultimately they're all tracks which I thought would be the most suitable. The background to the cover is an American Civil War image, and the words of the title, to go with it, can be found in the Tim Eriksen track. And thank you to Laura Koenig who has definitely broadened my knowledge of all of this, and whose wonderful mixes provided a couple of the songs on here!Feedback:
oink! good stuff here.
GREAT stuff! GREAT mix.
I agree with sport !
oh, wow, richard thompson, eliza carthy, bert jansch... you've got a good one here.
Wonderful! So many favorite artists here....
Lots of great selections!
Nice to see you back -- and with such an awesome mix. Love the mix of old vs. new/your side of the pond vs. ours. Very nice.
This looks great to me.
This is all beautiful - I love seeing the Farinas and Ochs here, especially.
Lovely job with this, and a fine introduction for a curious friend. The Dylan opener is a fave of mine, and always good to see Kansas City resident Iris Dement pop up on a mix. Also loving the McGarrigles, Steeleye Span, Freakwater, Woody, Leonard, and Mr. Fahey, and great choice by Cat. Nice work.
Looks really good -- I remember my mom and grandpa listening to Steeleye Span when I was a child. They had an album that, if I recall correctly, had a whole bunch of little gold figures on the cover and I'd stare at it for hours...
Wow Siobahn, this looks really nice.
Excellent Mix!
WOW. Quite an impressive mix you've compiled here. Should be a fantastic introduction to your curious friend.
Wonderful from start to finish.
Looks like an excellent mix of US and UK folk. Your friend should be impressed.

Siobhan - I know you posted these a long, long time ago, but I've just now seen them. What a great introduction for your friend! Nice to see such a wide variety of folky stuff all in one place. Wonderful!
