Comment:

One of around four or five mixed-genre mixes I made recently, for friends. Each consists of simply songs I thought they'd enjoy and, as with a lot of the mixed-genre ones I do for friends, usually one particular song triggers the whole vibe. In this case, it was the Cranberries track. Also, I just love that there's a band called Utah!

Lovely stuff. That SY tune rocks. And yes, it's a good thing that there's a band called Utah! (not that I've ever heard them . . .)

Cherry Bomb! This looks like a jump-around up-&-up mix. Boom boom boom!

Good cover, good song selection, good flow. Just one question, what constitutes an "uppity rock type"?

An "uppity rock type" - hmm, you know, I didn't think that one out too well! Maybe I was just thinking of the angry young men (and women) who make up a good percentage of this mix - some of them like to shout and throw their wright about a lot, but they seem so certain about everything that it's hard not to think of them as uppity. But otherwise I'm not too sure - answers on a postcard anyone?!

Kewl! Great opener, of course, and super closer. And all in between is peachy keen.

Any Mix that starts with Teenage Riot is a winner in my book. Perhaps a mix with songs uing the word teenage in them: Teenage Wildlife by Bowie, Baba O'Riley by the Who... something to think about.

Loving the opener and closer and a lot of the stuff in between. Haven't heard that Jason Loewenstein album in a while. Thanks for reminding me to give it a spin!

Lovely mix! I agree, Utah is a good band name, but I'd prefer it without the exclamation mark.

Actually, after mulling it over for a few minutes, I think it's funnier with the exclamation mark... as if there's something to get excited about regarding Utah.

Very cool, indeed, Siobhan. As was already said, any mix that starts off with "Teenage Riot" is a winner in my book. Also like the Cult, Goldfrapp, Cranberries (!), Runaways, Babes and Echo trax, as well. Fantastic.
