Comment:

Another all-acoustic mix, including loads of songs which I've just been waiting to put on a mix for ages! The title's from the Josh Ritter track - I've never been a big fan, but "Wings" really surprised me; it's beautifully written. I thought the picture (the Grotto at Lourdes, where the Virgin Mary appeared to St. Bernadette) suited the title, but there's no religious theme. Many thanks to Moe for the Love Generation track, to Rob for the Bobbie Gentry, and to hemizen for the Dink Roberts.

Nice one Siobhan, wouldn't mind hearing this one. Pedantically speaking, Bandwagonesque was '91 not '96.

I'm digging a lot of this. Nice Cat Power selection. Most people I've spoken with didn't really like that cover, but thought it was great.

Outstanding collection Siobhan! Happy I could be of help. I've recently discovered what a great singer Bobbie Gentry is. Her back catalog begs to be reissued on CD.

i really don't like that paul westerberg. he kills songs. but stumbeline. oh my stumbeline. son house and cat power are ones you know i like, as is that doves song. i completely forgot it existed till you put that up there. and... black or blue. yep. that's how you win your brother's approval - the SP and the S to the wade on there too. damn.
