Comment:
Howdy AOTMers. I've been out of the country for awhile... so a bit of catch-up work. This one dates all the way back to Valentine's Day, and is appropriately themed to a love story. Like any love story worth its salt, it begins with a few lines of coke, moves through infatuation and frustration (2-7), paranoid jealousy (8-12), rage/grief/suicidal tendencies (13-16), false resolution (17), ultimatum (18), breach of sanity/murderous stalking (19-20), and finally some happy twinkling songs that either symbolize actual resolution or murder/suicide. For Vanessa... who probably threw it out.
Feedback:
This looks great. Nice choice of Modey Lemon tracks and cool use of one of the only Radiohead songs that still totally knocks me out at this point.
Amazing mix. Great bands. Love love LOVE Cat power, Okkervil River, Radiohead, Jenny Lewis, etc. Whoever is receiving this is mighty lucky.
Spectacular stuff, man. Good to see you back on the boards. Great pix all around, but I particularly dig the T.Rex->Boris stretch there. 17-20 is pretty nice, too.
Very nice and welcome back. 2,3,14,16 & 18 get me going.
Dude, nobody worth your time would throw this out, sorry to say! Great mix!
Welcome back Zeke. Great mix here and I'd like to see more pictures of ya with, like, plastic deer or something yo.
A mighty return, indeed! That final stretch from 19 onwards is magnificent.
Thanks all, glad you like it...
Shame my favourite band 'The Capital letters' don't make an appearance. But, when you've got 'The Drowners', 'You Are What You Love' and 'Going To Georgia' on a mix, to name but three, I'd say to hell with them. Great stuff...
Damn this looks great - the mix, the liner notes AND the art!
Musta missed this one. Love the narrative. Nice work.
t-rex!!!!!!!!!!!
