Where The Wild Things Are
Comment:
Because I can. So this one started out with the idea of finding a new home. You graduate from college, and suddenly your whole family has grown up, your friends are getting married, getting real jobs, buying houses. Home is now scattered across the country in the few people who you miss so much that you plan trips just to see them. Don't want to get married yet, want to travel, constantly broke, can't seem to satisfy the most humble of desires... youth. Every once in a while you run into a stretch of serious frustration, impatience, or sadness... but with a few good friends, good music, and a little alcohol, anything is possible. Anyway, I guess I've been delving into my imagination alot lately, thinking about times yet to come. Hopefully they won't be imaginary forever. For V9, who makes it all bearable. Apologies to Jenny for scooping the Devendra track... it's just too sweet to be left behind. And I'll be damned if Apologies To The Queen Mary isn't every bit as good as I hoped it would be.
Feedback:
very nice
Love the...uhh, Sendak.
Mmm, it seems that everybody knows devendra banhart apart from me - I may have to fix that. Otherwise, not too much that I know, but I do love that Spoon pick.
Liking the P:ano and Spoon selections a lot.
This looks damned fine to me. (I'd already scooped both of you on that Banhart track with my "The wonders don't care" mix... not that it matters. ;-) )
typical conroy ;) why do I even bother posting anymore?
But has Rob ever posted a mix with a cover this wild? I think not. Lovely mix. Maurice Sendak would be proud.
i love you comment, almost as much as i love this mix
Dude, I used to love the book you used for this cover.
Philosophy, honesty, autobiography and a marvellous mix -- all in one handy to read package. Thank you zeke. May your future be fulfilling.
no, thank you, Nomates. thank you for caring. may the road rise up to meet you.
That cover *is* great. And I'm glad that you & Moe both understood the friendly nature of my comment...
Ditto Nomates' comment. Totally.
well done!
Lovely -- The Mia Doi Todd is a special treat, and 5, 8 and 15 were among the best songs I heard in '05.
