Comment:
Title from the *aMAYzing* Caesars track. Mixed in anticipation of the rapidly approaching month of May... and the freedom that accompanies it... for V9. Some pernicious and putrid pop is effusing into my compilations of late... aka the umbrella and strawberry story tracks... should I be worried? ;)Feedback:
How didthis slip under the net without getting noticed? Whole bunch of stuff I love here but especialy that Tindersticks track which ranks amongst my top tunes of all time. Fancy a trade?
He he just realised the date lol, how wonderful it is living my life & being clueless as to what day of the week it is never mind the date!
While the French Connection dawdles in timewarp mode, the other Boheme here, (me), likes this one much as well.
I like it a lot too. Great picks all around.
I'm down for trades anytime. Just drop me an e-mail. Thanks for the comments, I'm glad you all like it.
Nice. Really like those last few picks.
brilliant job:)is that you on the pic?
In fact, that is me... at South Of the Border, a sleazy truckstop/amusement park en route from New York to Florida. On my third visit (frequent training trips) to this godforsaken scum haven, we were elated to discover that the management had installed an array of plastic animals for those taster's-choice-moments off of I40. This photograph stood out from the rest. I'm still not really sure what the expression I'm wearing indicates. Content? Stoicism? Sleep deprivation?
Anyone who segues from Sleater-Kinney to X-Ray Spex is OK by me. And which one is you - the one with the horns or one with the baseball hat?
Great lookin' mix Zeke!
Looks great. EXTREME kudos for your Neil Young pick (one of my three or so favorite Neil tunes and such an obscurity, to boot). I also love your Jam (my favorite song by them) pick and Descendents picks. And I know South of the Border well--Pecos Bill, etc.--and have similar pictures from 1992 or '93.
haha... ahem. the one with the baseball hat... which was an aquisition there... the S.O.B. acronym proudly emblazoned across the front. ;)
Lots to like on this!
Great stuff Zeke- I love the opener and the rest is lush too. And that picture is cracking me up...
Wonderful mix!
I thought you were the horny one in the picture. My mistake. Fab mix, ram rider. Not often that you'll see Strawberry Story making an appearance on a mix. Ride on cowboy.
really cool.
This is excellent -- one of my favorite DC songs and one of my favorite Tindersticks songs...
All hail the conquering ram rider. Don't know how I missed this. Dig the Jam, Butterfield, Vaselines and Dolls tracks especially. Next time in Florida let me know.
mmmm. delicious, zeke ol' buddy. like eating candy coated raindrops. soul IV real style.
wow! just catching up on some mixes I've missed this year - and I like this a lot - Tindersticks are great, did you hear Stuart Staples' solo album yet?
