Since U Been Gone or Kelly Clarkson Is A Golden God
Comment:
I'm really losing my decisiveness about titles. It used to be so cut and dry... so Vanessa's a councelor at some rich kid camp in Pennsylvania this summer (camp Lohikan. the place even has its own goddamn website detailing its 20+ tennis courts, jetskis, horse ranches, etc. google it. it's appalling.) and apparently, things aren't all that swell there. I guess money can't buy happiness... just yachts and islands. This mix represents my best effort to cheer her up. And lord knows the sweet sweet poetry of Kelly Clarkson should do the trick. ;) Oh, and mad propage to Rrrob Conroy, esquire, for introducing me to Skip Spence, who now rocks my socks to and from my spurious job. There are a few tracks on here that make me cringe (ie coldplay, house of love) and I start thinking "It's finally happened, I've become that guy I saw in the grocery store last night with the Bravery t-shirt and the $400 urban outfitters 'destroyed' jeans." And then I realize that I don't have $400. Couldn't this all just be in my mind? And it was. I don't even own a pair of jeans.I really should get some laundry done. Seriously. It's getting bad.
Feedback:
Nice. I see that you got that Skip Spence album... ;-) (Btw, feel free to drop a line, as I'm still waiting to hear back from you after providing you with all of that info that you requested.)
Really nice mix, Zeke.
Ah, yes. I should have added a shout-out for the "Skip" track. Much thanks to Mr. Conroy for that delectable number. ;)
Man, I meant to comment on this earlier in the week when it was up, but got sidetracked. I (not so) secretly LOVE that Kelly Clarkson track unabashedly and the rest of this looks suitably awesome, as well. Great, great stuff.
Nice - I love that Small Faces cut!
I love the variety.
Man your comments are worth it alone. I like this mix but I gotta say unlike everyone else on aotm I don't get the Kelly Clarkson track. Not that I'm averse to PopIdol style candy-pop mind but I don't get it.
