one of those mixes that introduced me to many many interesting new sounds. juniord d does this better than just about anyone else. recommended!

possibly my favorite acquisition thus far from aotm. echoes of all the feet that ever danced along to these songs while they hissed and popped on jukeboxes in faraway places adds a poignant emotional weight to some great music. we're talking historical document here.

an assured, well-paced tour of what the term "mixed genre" is all about, flowing smoothly from one notion to the next. who else can effortlessly throw some jazz greats in the mix with such flair and without messing everything up?

truly awesome. this is one of those mixes that had me listening to the opening track like 20 times before moving on to the next song. an absolute necessity for outdoor festivities during the months of july and august. you really can actually taste the cold beer and smell the lighter fluid this thang gives off.

i closed all the blinds, sank deep into my bean-bag chair, and stared at the cracks in my ceiling for three full days while this mix played constantly in the background. awesome.

wow. an amazingly ambitious two-volume set that hits endless highpoints, while mixing in radio spots and outtakes from historical events. brilliant brilliant brilliant.

another unbelievable mix from mr. paquette, this is a masterful ode to radio waves and their omnipresent receivers. attention to detail gives this lots of deft flourishes and a lively flow as well. jeremy exists and operates on a higher level than almost anyone else on aotm. stellar.

the weekend after lo-fi's "get hot or get gone!" barbeque beer bash, head to the riviera with this truly great blend of old and new. play on the beach by day, get dressed up for the casinos by night. how do you say "fun" in french?

yes, folks, it's as awesome as it looks. worth the wait a thousand times over.

i may play around with word-themed mixes and everything, but this is the real deal. lots and lots of great songs that play well off of each other. and it was a special treat to get a copy of the hilarious song that buffalo daughter sampled (almost in its entirety) for their "autobacs" track on new rock. fantastic stuff.

forget nashville, garth brooks, the dixie chicks, or whatever else gets bought and sold as country these days. even forget about yr favorite no depression hipsters for a second. this is roots music with heart and soul. and some glorious harmonizing as well.

vol 2 of the most incredible project since casetta's rock snob encyclopedia series. by the time the tape winds down on this one, you'll feel like you've been to the end of time and have seen everything flower and die. truly an epic ode to the history of music and its place in western culture. fantastic.

around the world in 90 minutes, with postcards from monument gift shops. my personal fave is the lemonbabies track - took me by surprise and broke my heart somehow. ah, the girls!

jeremy constantly reimagines the limits of a mix tape's potential, going beyond music to present the listener with ART. no joke, this is brilliant, inspiring stuff.
